05:35 PM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spectral AI (MDAI) has named founder J. Michael DiMaio as board chairman, the company said Monday.

The office of the chairman has been set up to oversee day-to-day operations, according to the company. As part of the transition, CEO Peter Carlson will be leaving his position at the company, but will remain as a consultant during a transitionary period, Spectral AI said.

DiMaio is currently serving as the chief of staff at Baylor Scott & White, it added.

The company's shares were down more than 3% in recent after-hours activity.
