09:38 AM EDT, 07/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spectral AI (MDAI) said Monday it has signed a memorandum of understanding with PolyNovo to deploy Spectral's AI-based wound diagnostics platform DeepView for burn wound assessment at two hospitals in Australia.

The company said DeepView uses AI and multispectral imaging to provide immediate assessment of the healing potential of a burn wound.

Under the agreement, burn treatment products developer PolyNovo will support Spectral AI's application to the Australian Special Access Scheme for the deployment of up to two DeepView systems at Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Spectral AI said.

This initial deployment is intended to prepare for a broader commercial rollout based on clinician feedback, Spectral added.

Shares of the company were up 1.6% in early trading Monday.
