Low-cost carrier SpiceJet will commence a daily direct flight connecting Mumbai with Bangkok from May 17, 2019.

Bangkok is the second international destination after Dubai, to which the airline operates direct flights from Mumbai. SpiceJet also operates non-stop flights from Bangkok to Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Delhi and Kolkata.

The air carrier also introduced six new domestic flights connecting Mumbai with Kolkata, Chennai and Varanasi, effective from April 18, 2019.

The additional frequencies added to the domestic flight routes will be operational daily and the airline will deploy its Boeing 737 NG aircraft on both the international as well as domestic routes.

About 13 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircrafts operated by SpiceJet were grounded by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as safety precautions last month, after an Ethiopian Airlines flight 302 crashed, killing 157 passengers and crew on board.

UDAN Flight

The airline company has also introduced a new UDAN flight between Hyderabad and Kishangarh in Rajasthan, effective from April 25. The airline is celebrating the launch with a starting one-way fare of Rs 3,701 per passenger.

The flight from Hyderabad will depart at 6:25 AM and reach Kishangarh at 8:35 AM and on its return journey, it will depart from Kishangarh at 8:55 AM to reach Hyderabad at 11:05 AM. The company will deploy a Bombardier Q 400 90- seater aircraft on this route. Earlier, Kishangarh was first connected with Delhi and Ahmedabad by SpiceJet.
