Spirit AeroSystems Probed by Texas Attorney General Over Safety Issues, Diversity Program
Apr 1, 2024 5:10 AM

07:31 AM EDT, 04/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) is being investigated by the Texas Attorney General over "apparent manufacturing defects" that have led to "concerning" aircraft safety incidents, the state AG's office said.

The maker of Boeing (BA) plane fuselages and major parts for other aerospace companies must provide Texas authorities with documents "relevant to manufacturing defects" because of "recurring issues with certain airplane parts," Attorney General, Ken Paxton, said.

Paxton said he also wants to probe whether Spirit AeroSystems' ( SPR ) "diversity, equity, and inclusion" policies were "compromising the company's manufacturing processes."

Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
