09:48 AM EDT, 09/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Spotify Technology ( SPOT ) said Thursday it is rolling out new policies to protect artists, songwriters and producers from the "worst parts" of generative artificial intelligence.
The Swedish streaming giant said that as AI tools have made it easier to generate vocal deepfakes, it introduced a new impersonation policy that protects artists against unauthorized use of AI voice clones.
The company also said it will roll out a new music spam filter this fall to tag and stop recommending uploaders and tracks engaging in spam tactics such as mass uploads and SEO hacks.
Spotify ( SPOT ) added that it is also helping develop the new industry standard for AI disclosures in music credits to give artists and rights holders a way to show AI's role in the creation of a track and strengthen trust across the platform.
Shares of Spotify ( SPOT ) were down more than 1% in early trading Thursday.
