08:05 AM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spotify Technology ( SPOT ) said Apple ( AAPL ) iPhone users in the European Union may view Spotify's ( SPOT ) pricing information in the app, starting Wednesday.

The audio streaming firm said it is opting into Apple's ( AAPL ) music streaming services "entitlement" following the European Commission's ruling that fined Apple ( AAPL ) over 1.8 billion euros ($1.98 billion) for violating antitrust laws.

"While this is progress, it's only a small step in the long march towards giving iPhone consumers basic product experiences they expect and deserve in their apps," the company said in a blog post Wednesday.

Users in the EU are still not able to purchase items on Spotify ( SPOT ) or other music streaming services in-app, the blog post said.

Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
