07:47 AM EDT, 05/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spotify Technology ( SPOT ) said Thursday on its website that its phased-out car accessory, "Car Thing", will stop working by Dec. 9 this year.

"We're discontinuing Car Thing as part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our product offerings," Spotify ( SPOT ) said, adding that it currently has no plans to release a replacement or a new version of the hardware product.

The company said it would not offer any trade-in options and did not mention whether it would credit or refund customers for the device.
