11:41 AM EST, 02/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Springworks Therapeutics ( SWTX ) shares rose past 34% in recent Monday trading after Reuters reported that Germany's Merck KGaA is in advanced talks to acquire the company.

A deal could be signed in the coming weeks if the talks are successful, the report said earlier Monday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.

The sources added that although discussions between the companies have advanced, there is still a possibility that another potential buyer for Springworks could come forward.

Springworks declined to comment when contacted by MT Newswires.
