Aug 1 (Reuters) - Canadian miner Standard Lithium ( SLI )
on Thursday named David Park as its new chief executive
officer, effective Sept. 1, succeeding longtime CEO Robert
Mintak.
The incoming CEO has served as a strategic advisor for
Standard Lithium ( SLI ) over the past year and helped the lithium miner
secure an investment from Equinor ASA ( EQNR ) in projects
located in Southwest Arkansas and East Texas.
Park, in a prior role, has served as the president at a unit
of Koch Industries, Standard Lithium's ( SLI ) biggest shareholder.
Mintak, who has been at the helm of Standard Lithium ( SLI ) for
more than seven years, will retire, but will remain as an
advisor through August 2025.
Standard Lithium ( SLI ) is among a number of companies trying to
use direct lithium extraction technologies to supply the key
metal to the EV industry.
Equinor ( EQNR ) and Lanxess are involved in Standard's DLE
projects in Arkansas, where Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) is also looking
to develop a project.
