Standard Lithium Up 8% in U.S. Pre-market on Maiden Inferred Resource for Franklin Project in Texas
Sep 24, 2025 6:39 AM

09:28 AM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Standard Lithium ( SLI ) 's share price jumped 8% at last look Wednesday in NYSE American pre-market trading after the company released a maiden inferred resource for its Franklin joint venture with Equinor in Texas.

The maiden resource report includes 2.2 million metric tons of lithium carbonate equivalent, 15.4 million metric tons of potash, and 2.6 million tonnes of bromide contained within 0.61 kilometers of brine volume in the inferred resource.

Standard Lithium ( SLI ) said study showed that the project has the highest reported lithium brine concentration in North America to date of 806 mg/L from the Pine Forest 1 well.

"Our team has been working diligently for the past four years to identify the most attractive areas to secure sizeable, high-quality brine resources in North America, and the Franklin project provides a strong foundation for future, much larger production in the Smackover that will complement our South West Arkansas project," Standard Lithium ( SLI ) president and chief operating officer Andy Robinson said.

Standard Lithium ( SLI ) said it plans to drill additional appraisal wells and re-enter three shut-in wells to further characterize the resource. This will facilitate the maturation and definition of a preliminary feasibility study, the company said.

The joint venture will also conduct direct lithium extraction testing of the project brine, leveraging insights gained from Standard Lithium's ( SLI ) demonstration plant located in El Dorado, Arkansas, as well as the South West Arkansas project.
