Starbucks Reportedly Not Considering Full Sale of China Operations
Jun 24, 2025 4:24 AM

07:12 AM EDT, 06/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Starbucks ( SBUX ) is not contemplating a full sale of its China operations, media outlets reported Tuesday, citing the company.

Chinese financial magazine Caixin reported about the potential sale earlier, saying that the coffee giant has held preliminary discussions with more than 12 potential suitors for the business.

"I can confirm Starbucks ( SBUX ) is not currently considering a full sale of its China operations," Reuters reported, citing a company spokesperson.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) launched a formal sale process of its China operations in May, the news agency reported, citing three sources with knowledge of the matter.

However, the company has yet to decide whether to sell a controlling or a minority stake in the business, or whether it will retain some parts such as its supply chain, Reuters quoted two of the sources as saying.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
