Startup Street: Drivezy's fundraising plans, Wonderchef’s 2020 roadmap and more
Jan 3, 2020 12:31 PM

In What’s Brewing segment of Startup Street, vehicle rental startup Drivezy is in early talks to raise fresh funds in a Series C round of funding. Drivezy was founded in 2014 and offers cars and bikes on rent across several cities.

The company could raise anywhere between USD 50 to 80 million. Drivezy is likely to be backed by two big Japanese companies, Sony Corporation and Yamaha, which have both held early talks with the company and are in the process of doing due diligence of the startup, say sources. Yamaha is an existing investor in Drivezy.

Startup Street also checked in the Indian Science Congress that kicked off in Bengaluru on Friday with PM Narendra Modi inaugurating the event. The best scientific minds came together at this annual event and we caught up with a few to understand where the innovation is happening.

Neobanking is the buzzword on the street and the Reserve Bank of India recently called Open Technologies to discuss how this technology can help small and medium enterprises. Startup Street checked in with the company to find out about the discussions with the regulator as well as their plans for 2020.

Wonderchef, one of India’s leading brands in the kitchen appliances segment is setting up its manufacturing unit in India and is also eyeing international markets. To know more about the brand and the road ahead, Shruti Mishra is joined by Founder and Managing Director of Wonderchef, Ravi Saxena.
