State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday (November 9) reported a 1.3% year-on-year (YoY) decline in net profit at ₹439.6 crore for the second quarter that ended September 30, 2023.
In the corresponding quarter last year, SJVN posted a net profit of ₹445.4 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing.against ₹878.5 crore in the year-ago period.
The revenue from operations included ₹12.21 crore and ₹17.93 crore for the quarter and half year ended on September 30, 2023, respectively, from the sale of power through trading, the company stated in a regulatory filing.

At the operating level, EBITDA declined 0.9% to ₹706.2 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal over ₹712.6 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
The EBITDA margin stood at 80.4% in the reporting quarter against 81.1% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.
Other income, amounting to ₹81.95 crore and ₹155.67 crore for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2023, respectively (₹40.52 crore and ₹104.77 crore for the year-ago periods), mainly accrued from interest from bank and others.
Shares of SJVN Ltd ended at ₹74.69, down by ₹2.17, or 2.82%, on the BSE.
