Statistics Canada Flash Estimate for August Manufacturing Sales Down 1.5% M/M on Oil, Coal

08:49 AM EDT, 09/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Statistics Canada Tuesday said its advance estimate for total manufacturing sales decreased 1.5% month-over-month in August.

The largest decreases were in the oil and coal product as well as primary metal subsectors, noted Canada's statistical agency in a statement.

This estimate was calculated based on a weighted response rate of 68%. The average final response rate for the survey over the previous 12 months has been 94%, pointed out StatsCan.
