Steel plant explosion in central Mexico kills at least 12 people

MEXICO CITY, Oct 30 (Reuters) - At least 12 people were

killed after an explosion at a plant in Mexico's central

Tlaxcala state, authorities said on Wednesday.

The plant belongs to steelmaker SIMEC, the state civil

protection office announced in a social media post, adding that

the blast was likely caused after a smelting apparatus

collapsed.
