Stellantis Expected to Appoint New CEO Before H2, Executive Says

01:13 PM EST, 01/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis ( STLA ) should nominate a new chief executive officer before the end of H1 2025, the automaker's chief operating officer for South America Emanuele Cappellano said in a press conference in Brazil, according to Italian media reports Friday.

The new CEO will succeed Carlos Tavares, who resigned in December.

Cappellano said John Elkann, who is currently chairing an interim executive committee, considers the appointment of a new permanent CEO an "absolute priority," according to the reports.

Stellantis ( STLA ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

STLA shares were 0.6% higher in recent trading.
