Stellantis' Joint Venture With China's Leapmotor Ships First Batch of Electric Vehicles to Europe

03:17 PM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis ( STLA ) said Tuesday its joint venture with Chinese automaker Leapmotor shipped the first batch of Leapmotor electric vehicles to Europe from Shanghai.

The shipment comprised an undisclosed number of Leapmotor C10 SUVs and T03 cars with the venture planning to sell the vehicles in nine European countries starting in September.

The venture plans to increase sales points for Leapmotor vehicles in Europe to 500 by 2026 from 200 at the end of this year, Stellantis ( STLA ) said.

The Leapmotor vehicles will be launched in the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and South America later this year, Stellantis ( STLA ) said.

Stellantis ( STLA ) shares fell 1.7% in recent trading Tuesday.
