Stellantis' Lawsuit Over Cartel Activity in UK Dismissed by Competition Appeal Tribunal
Feb 21, 2025 8:47 AM

11:28 AM EST, 02/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis' ( STLA ) lawsuit against a group of automotive safety equipment makers, including Autoliv (ALV), was dismissed by the UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal for lack of evidence, according to a Friday statement from the Tribunal.

In its complaint, Stellantis ( STLA ) alleged that the group was involved in cartels related to markets for seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels from 2002 or 2004 through 2011, leading to an overcharge of 10.8% to 25.9% on the products over the period.

UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal said Stellantis ( STLA ) "failed to establish" that there was cartel activity over the period or that any cartel activity led to an overcharge.

Stellantis ( STLA ) and Autoliv did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
