07:01 AM EDT, 09/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis NV's ( STLA ) Chrysler is recalling 1.23 million Dodge Ram 1500 trucks from the 2019 and 2021-2024 model years in the US due to a software malfunction in the anti-lock brake system that can increase the risk of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday.
The software malfunction may result in the anti-lock brake system control module disabling the electronic stability control system, according to the NHTSA.
As a result, the vehicles do not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard on electric stability control systems.
Stellantis ( STLA ) will update the anti-lock brake system control module software free of charge.
