07:58 AM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis ( STLA ) is recalling more than 21,000 hybrid crossover SUVs in the US due to a potential issue with the brake pedal assembly, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported on Wednesday.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that some 2024-2025 model-year Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale SUVs may have been built with a brake pedal that could collapse during braking, preventing the driver from activating the service brakes and increasing the risk of a crash without warning.

It added that the dealers will reinforce the brake pedal arm free of charge.
