09:54 AM EDT, 03/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis ( STLA ) is recalling almost 285,000 vehicles over right and left side curtain air bag inflators that might rupture because of a manufacturing defect, according to documents posted on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall covers certain Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 vehicles from model years 2018 to 2021, according to the documents.

"An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking occupants, resulting in injury or death," according to an NHTSA letter acknowledging Stellantis' ( STLA ) notification of the safety recall.
