Stellantis Will Recall 332,000 Cars in the US due to Defective Seat Belt Buckle Sensors
Jul 10, 2024 4:41 AM

07:18 AM EDT, 07/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis NV ( STLA ) is recalling 332,000 Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and Fiat cars in the US due to flawed seat belt sensors, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Wednesday.

The safety regulator said that a seat belt buckle switch sensor may be improperly connected, preventing the front seat air bag from deploying as intended, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

As a result, dealers will repair the connection for free. The recall includes 2017-2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia, 2018-2025 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, 2024 Fiat 500E, 2019-2023 Fiat 500X and Jeep Renegade models.
