12:52 PM EST, 12/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis ( STLA ) and Zeta Energy agreed to develop advanced lithium-sulfur batteries for electric vehicles.
The collaboration "aims to develop a significantly lighter battery pack with the same usable energy, enabling greater range, improved handling and enhanced performance," the companies said Thursday in a statement.
The agreement involves preproduction development and future output planning with batteries set to power Stellantis ( STLA ) vehicles by 2030.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
Shares of Stellantis ( STLA ) rose 3.9% in recent Thursday trading.
