03:57 AM EDT, 04/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- STMicroelectronics ( STM ) and ROHM Group said Monday they have expanded a multi-year silicon wafer supply deal to a minimum value of $230 million.
Under the agreement, Rohm's SiCrystal subsidiary will supply Swiss semiconductor firm STMicroelectronics ( STM ) with an expanded volume of 150-millimeter silicon carbide substrate wafers manufactured at a plant in Germany.
STMicroelectronics ( STM ) Chief Procurement Officer Geoff West said the deal will strengthen its future supply chain resilience and help it increase production of energy-efficient semiconductors for automotive and industrial customers.
