06:13 AM EST, 02/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- STMicroelectronics ( STM ) said Thursday that it is launching new silicon photonics and BiCMOS technologies, co-developed with Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Amazon Web Services division, for optical interconnect in datacenters and artificial intelligence clusters.

STMicroelectronics ( STM ) said it is collaborating with Amazon Web Services on the PIC100 chip for the optical and AI markets.

STMicroelectronics ( STM ) said the chip's 800 gigabyte per second and 1.6 terabyte per second optical modules will be ramped up in the second half of the year.
