Storyboard: Vivo wins back title sponsorship for IPL 2021
Mar 13, 2021 1:46 AM

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo, who had to back out as the title sponsor of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) after the nationwide backlash post-Indo-China border stand-off, will return as the title sponsor of the IPL this season.

Vivo had won the IPL title sponsorship rights for five years from 2018 to 2022 for a reported sum of Rs 2,190 crore. It was replaced by Dream11 as the title sponsor only for one season ahead of last year's IPL tournament due to a public outcry.

As they return, what are their plans for this year’s IPL and how prepared are they if the tension escalates again? Nipun Marya, Head-Brand Strategy, Vivo discussed this in an interview with Storyboard.

Watch the accompanying video for full interview.
