08:41 AM EDT, 04/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sucro ( SUGCF ) , a sugar producer, on Friday reported a fourth-quarter net loss of US$10.4 million ($14.3 million), or US$1.65 per basic share, as compared with net income of US$15.7 million, or US$2.27 per basic share, a year earlier.
Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 was US$114.6 million, up from US$94.5 million a year earlier.
Adjusted ebitda for Q4 was US$8.3 million versus US$10.5 million a year earlier.
Sugar deliveries for Q4 were 95,883 metric tons, up from 81,947 metric tons a year ago.
"Our expectation in 2024 is to deliver further production growth from our existing operations while executing our refinery expansion plans," Jonathan Taylor, founder and chief executive officer of Sucro ( SUGCF ), said. "Our investment program for the year is focused on construction activities for our new refinery in Hamilton, and on advancing our recently announced new cane refinery at our University Park site in Illinois."
