Sun Group plans to launch new Telugu channels to gain market share from youth
Sep 5, 2018 1:28 AM

The Sun TV Network is planning to launch new channels in Telugu to gain market share from youth, said SL Narayan, Group CFO of the company.

“One of the things that we are doing to correct the market share loss is to now position as second general entertainment channels (GEC) in both, Tamil and Telugu,” Narayanan said.

The stock has been seeing some weakness possibly due to market share loss in the Tamil market.

Narayanan said the company's current market share is around 50 percent.

Talking about business strategy, he said, “We do not think that there is any need for readjustment of our distribution strategy at this point."
