09:07 AM EDT, 06/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- SunOpta ( STKL ) said on Wednesday that it invested US$26 million to increase oat milk production at its facility in Modesto, California.

The investment will expand annual oat milk production by 60% and create 17 jobs, SunOpta ( STKL ) said.

"Through this significant investment in Modesto to produce more oatbase, we're well positioned to meet the increasing market demand for plant-based milk and other oat-based products," CEO Brian Ocher said.

SunOpta's ( STKL ) share price closed down 0.1% at $7.31 yesterday.
