In a verdict that could pave way for faster resolutions of bankruptcies, the Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld laws that protect new owners of insolvent companies from charges filed against the previous management.
The Supreme Court has given the bankruptcy code a shot in the arm and held in the Bhushan Power & Steel case that a successful resolution applicant gets immunity from prosecution.
