10:54 AM EDT, 10/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Surmodics ( SRDX ) said Tuesday the US Food and Drug Administration has issued a 510(k) clearance for its Pounce XL Thrombectomy System.

The device is indicated for the non-surgical removal of thrombi and emboli from the peripheral arterial vasculature in vessels with a diameter of 5.5 to 10 millimeters, the company said. It plans limited market release in the first half of 2025.
