12:20 PM EDT, 07/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- SurModics ( SRDX ) said Wednesday that on June 5, it discovered unauthorized access to its systems by a third party and that certain information technology systems and data were unavailable due to the breach.

The company said it has initiated recovery efforts, including restoring critical systems, notifying law enforcement, and maintaining operations with minimal customer impact.

There is no evidence that the threat actor has released any company or third-party data, nor has any data been used for fraudulent purposes, according to SurModics ( SRDX ).

The company said it expects its cyber insurance to cover much of the incident's expenditures.
