10:02 AM EDT, 05/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Sweetgreen ( SG ) said Monday that it will foray into the Arkansas market with a restaurant planned to open in Fayetteville later this year, followed by Bentonville.

The restaurant chain owner said the location planned for Bentonville will be at retail giant Walmart's ( WMT ) new home office.

Sweetgreen ( SG ) said the Arkansas openings are part of its plan to expand to new markets, including Sacramento, California; Phoenix, Arizona; and Cincinnati, Ohio, this year. It also said it is on track to increase its footprint by 15% to 20% per year and aims to open at least 40 new restaurants in 2025.

Shares of Sweetgreen ( SG ) were down 1.4% in recent trading.
