08:36 AM EDT, 10/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tactile Systems Technology ( TCMD ) said Wednesday that its Nimbl pneumatic compression platform is now commercially available in the US for the treatment of upper extremity lymphedema.
Tactile said Nimbl is smaller and lighter than previous devices. It is indicated as a treatment for patients with upper and lower extremity lymphedema, chronic edema, venous insufficiency, and wound healing.
The device received US FDA clearance in June and approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services last month, the company said. It added that it expects to make Nimbl commercially available for patients in the coming months.
Many breast cancer survivors are afflicted with lifelong lymphedema symptoms that include swelling and discomfort in the breast, trunk, arms, and hands.
