Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Founder Warns of Challenges to Future Growth

11:24 AM EDT, 10/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( TSM ) Founder Morris Chang warned of future challenges to the company's growth, noting that free trade of semiconductors "has died," news outlets reported Saturday, citing Chang's remarks during a company event.

The news outlets said Chang also expressed optimism towards the company's market position and leadership team.

In the same event, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( TSM ) Chief Executive Officer C.C. Wei also disclosed several operational updates including progress of the new plant in Arizona, a groundbreaking in Germany, and the continued development of its 2-nanometer process, the reports added.

According to the reports, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( TSM ) is expected to post record revenue this year as artificial intelligence continued to demand.
