11:27 AM EST, 03/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tantalus Systems Holding ( TGMPF ) said Wednesday it extended its license agreement with Itron to support full Encoder Receiver Transmitter (ERT) compatibility across the TRUConnect AMI Platform, part of the Tantalus Grid Modernization Platform.
Tantalus said over 80-million ERT technology is one of the most widely adopted metering architectures across electric, water and gas utilities in North America over the past three decades.
Following the extension, Tantalus said it will continue to have the right to read Itron communications technologies used in early automated meter reading systems and legacy AMI deployments, including Advanced SCM+ messaging and Enhanced Fixed Network functionality.
Through the agreement, Tantalus said it is the only company licensed to read and deliver the complete ERT messaging structure across a purpose-built AMI platform engineered to support advanced two-way data logging capabilities.
"Across North America, utilities are navigating how to modernize aging infrastructure while managing cost constraints and changing expectations from customers, state officials and regulators," Chief Executive Officer Peter Londa said.
"By accessing the complete ERT message across Tantalus' TRUConnect AMI offering, we are helping utilities unlock greater operational intelligence at lower risk and lower overall cost with a data-centric approach to AMI," Londa said.
The company's shares were last seen up $0.19 to $4.68 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
