07:07 AM EDT, 06/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Target ( TGT ) said Thursday that it plans to roll out its "Store Companion" generative artificial intelligence tool for use by employees at almost 2,000 stores in the US by August.

The company said the chatbot is designed to "answer on-the-job process questions, coach new team members, support store operations management," among others.

Target ( TGT ) said the new tool is part of its broader GenAI strategy, adding it will continue testing additional applications throughout this year and beyond.
