08:56 AM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Taro Pharmaceutical Industries ( TARO ) said Thursday that its shareholders have approved its merger with Sun Pharmaceutical Industries.

The merger was announced on Jan. 17.

The deal is expected to close in about 35 days, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of certain closing conditions. Upon completion, Taro will become a privately held subsidiary of Sun Pharmaceutical and will then be delisted from the NYSE, the company said.
