09:02 AM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Taseko Mines ( TGB ) said Wednesday that it has received final regulatory approvals and is starting wellfield operations at its 100%-owned Florence Copper project in Arizona.
The SX/EW plant was substantially completed on Sept. 19, with commissioning set to occur concurrently with the start of wellfield operations, and the first copper cathode is expected to be produced in about three months, the company said.
Taseko also reported on Wednesday that the Gibraltar mine produced 27.6 million pounds of copper and 560,000 pounds of molybdenum in Q3, with 26.3 million pounds of copper sold.
Mill throughput was at design capacity of 85,300 tons per day, and copper recoveries improved to 77% for the quarter and 83% in September, while copper head grades of 0.22% were behind plan, the company said.
Taseko also said it expects another "significant" production increase in Q4 but that it will not recover the production shortfall from recent months.
The company said it now expects copper output in 2025 to range between 100 million and 105 million pounds.
Shares of the company were up 3.6% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
