07:13 AM EDT, 04/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Wall Street futures pointed moderately higher pre-bell Wednesday as tech sector earnings reports continued to galvanize investor sentiments.
In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.1%, the tech-heavy Nasdaq inclined 0.5%, but the Dow Jones was flat.
Asian exchanges traded solidly higher overnight on tech sector rallies, while European bourses tracked moderately north midday on the continent.
Tesla (TSLA) was up nearly 13% in premarket activity after the EV maker posted earnings late Tuesday and revealed plans to lower production costs and introduce more affordable models. Texas Instruments ( TXN ) gained 7% pre-bell after issuing an upbeat profit forecast, also late Tuesday.
Thermo Fisher Scientific ( TMO ) and AT&T ( T ) reported earnings pre-bell, among others. Meta Platforms ( META ) releases earnings results after-bell.
On the economic calendar, the weekly MBA mortgage applications bulletin was posted at 7 am ET, followed by the March durable goods orders bulletin at 8:30 am.
The weekly EIA domestic oil inventories report posts at 10:30 am, and the Atlanta Fed Survey of Business Uncertainty for April posts at 11 am.
In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $66,359, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded lower at $82.87, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.64%. Spot gold traded for $2,316 an ounce.
