06:13 AM EDT, 09/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Teck Resources ( TECK ) late on Wednesday said that on Monday it shut down one of four sections of the Trail Operations' electrolytic zinc plant due to a fire.

There were no injuries and environmental impacts are not expected to occur as a result of the fire, the company said.

Production from the other three sections of the electrolytic zinc plant continues at Trail Operations, as does production of lead and other specialty metals and by-products.

Teck is investigating the cause of the incident.

The company's share price at last look lost 0.6% to US$50.30 in U.S. pre-market trading on Thursday.
