08:46 AM EDT, 07/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Teledyne Technologies' ( TDY ) Teledyne FLIR Defense unit said Wednesday it has received a $15 million contract to deliver more than 150 of its ThermoSight HISS-XLR weapon sights to a North Atlantic Treaty Organization partner country.
The contract, received through the US Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, also covers parts, training and other in-country support, Teledyne FLIR said.
The unit said that the ThermoSight HISS-XLR clip-on thermal weapon sight gives snipers and precision shooters the ability to detect and recognize man-size targets at over 2,000 meters.
Teledyne FLIR said deliveries started this spring and will continue through the year.
Teledyne ( TDY ) shares were up 5% in premarket activity on Wednesday.
