07:47 AM EDT, 10/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Telesat ( TSAT ) a satellite operator, on Monday said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus SAS to collaborate on the integration of the Telesat Lightspeed low earth orbit (LEO) network within the Airbus HBCplus Ka-band solution portfolio.

The two companies will work together to address user terminal integration for HBCplus installations that are capable of providing Telesat Lightspeed services.

"Our advanced, enterprise-class LEO network was designed from inception to meet the demanding requirements of inflight connectivity service providers with guaranteed committed information rates and SLAs," said Philippe Schleret, Vice President of Aviation for Telesat ( TSAT ). "We're excited to begin this important collaboration with Airbus to ensure our channel partners can seamlessly integrate Telesat Lightspeed services into their portfolios to deliver exceptional connectivity experiences to their customers as HBCplus Managed Service Providers."

TSAT closed down $0.63 or 3.35% at $18.18 last Friday.
