08:05 AM EDT, 09/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Telesat ( TSAT ) said Monday that it has selected Calian Group ( CLNFF ) , to design, manufacture and deploy the Element Management System within the Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit satellite network.

Calian will also provide maintenance and support for the system. The EMS will connect and maintain operations for various components within the Telesat Lightspeed network to ensure optimal performance.

The Telesat Lightspeed constellation is a network of advanced LEO satellites and terrestrial infrastructure that will offer high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity to remote locations across Canada and worldwide. The network will support multi-Gbps data rates for government, aeronautical, maritime and enterprise customers that operate in locations without access to fiber.
