ROME, June 6 (Reuters) - Telespazio, a joint venture
between Italy's Leonardo and France's Thales
said on Thursday it had signed an agreement with Elon Musk's
SpaceX to commercialise Starlink services.
SpaceX's Starlink, which owns around 60% of the roughly
7,500 satellites orbiting Earth, is dominant in the satellite
internet sphere.
The constellation of satellites is designed to provide
broadband internet services around the world, particularly in
rural areas that are poorly served by other networks.
Under the deal, Telespazio will integrate Starlink into its
connectivity network, made up of satellite and terrestrial
solutions.
