TELUS, ASTS SpaceMobile to Bring Space-Based Cellular Broadband to Remote Canada

04:33 AM EST, 03/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- TELUS ( TU ) and AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ) said Tuesday they have signed a deal to bring space-based cellular broadband service to rural Canada.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Under the deal, TELUS ( TU ) will invest in ground-based satellite infrastructure and become an equity stakeholder in AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ), the companies said.

The service is planned for a late 2026 launch, the companies said.

Once launched, customers of TELUS ( TU ) will be able to use text, voice, and data in Canada's remote locations, the companies said.
