TELUS Partners With Photonic to Advance Quantum Communications in Canada

02:32 PM EDT, 10/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- TELUS ( TU ) said Monday it teamed up with Photonic for the development of quantum communications in Canada.

As part of the collaboration, TELUS ( TU ) will grant Photonic access to its fiber-optic network in British Columbia. The infrastructure is designed to facilitate the testing of complex quantum networking, utilizing quantum encryption for information transfer over long distances.

TELUS' ( TU ) PureFibre infrastructure will empower Photonic to enhance vital capabilities in quantum computing, networking, and key distribution, according to the company.

TELUS ( TU ) shares rose more than 2% in recent trading.
