Ternium reports net profit of nearly $500 mln in first quarter

April 24 (Reuters) - Steelmaker Ternium on

Wednesday posted a first-quarter net profit that edged up 2% to

reach $491 million, from net sales that rose 32% to total almost

$4.8 billion.

The company said it expected lower core earnings in the

second quarter compared to the first, citing a lower margins

reduction even as it boosts its steel shipment volumes.
