Tesla CEO Musk Says Doesn't Support Merger With xAI
Jul 14, 2025 3:35 AM

06:02 AM EDT, 07/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk said Monday he doesn't support a potential merger between the electric vehicle maker and his startup xAI, which owns the Grok generative artificial intelligence chatbot.

Responding to a user post on X that asked Tesla investors if they were in favor of a merger between the two companies, Musk replied "No."

Musk recently had said he would ask Tesla shareholders to vote whether the EV maker can invest in xAI, after earlier saying "it would be great" if Tesla could do so, Reuters reported.

Tesla shares were up 1.1% in recent premarket activity Monday.
