05:44 AM EDT, 05/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk is considering building an electric vehicle battery plant in Indonesia, Reuters reported Monday, citing Luhut Pandjaitan, Indonesia's coordinating minister of investment.
"We made an offer, is it possible to build an EV battery plant here, precursor cathode," Luhut told reporters, Reuters said. "And he will consider it."
Furthermore, Indonesian President Joko Widodo has also asked Musk to consider investing in an artificial intelligence center in the country and for SpaceX to build a launchpad in Biak island in the country's Papua province, Reuters reported.
